The project Trans, non-binary and gender-fluid children and adolescents in educational spaces aimed to build didactic and educational graphic materials, with a gender and human rights perspective, on trans, non-binary and gender-fluid children and adolescents. These materials were intended for elementary and high schools with the aim of being used by members of the educational community, to build interventions and generate diverse and discrimination-free school environments. The results presented here refer to highlighting the collaborative work experience and the collective construction of scientific knowledge with the subjects of the field involved in the research process.

El campo jurídico: teorías y prácticas interpeladas desde una perspectiva de género. Avances de investigación

Legal practices integrate the process of professional training and interpretation of the legal norm, making its value invisible in the production and reproduction of knowledge. The objective was to analyze interdisciplinary with a gender perspective the practices and strategies deployed by legal actors in relation to the teaching of law and the administration of justice. We use qualitative methodology articulated with quantitative data through triangulation. The results allow us to affirm that the practices within the legal field have undergone transformations in knowledge as well as in its application, but they are not always focused on meeting the needs of litigants.

Debating Citizenship. The first bills for the extension of political rights to women in Argentina (1919-1921)

An important milestone in the construction of female citizenship in Argentina dates back to 1919, when Rogelio Araya and Julieta Lanteri presented the first two bills on the subject. The substantial difference between the two projects was the scope of the concept of citizenship. In Araya's case, the bill was groundbreaking, but it established a difference from the Saenz Peña Law on male suffrage: women had to be twenty-one years old to exercise their right to vote. On the other hand, Lanteri proposed unrestricted citizenship, advocating for legal equality between men and women. Thus began a long legislative journey towards women’s suffrage law.

The construction of sorceresses as gender identities in the universe of the Portuguese Court of the Holy Office (16th century)

The Portuguese Inquisition did not initiate the repression of witchcraft in Portugal; rather, the phenomenon had already been subjected to vigorous theological and juridical debates, encompassing the distinctive mixed jurisdiction characteristic of this transgression. Nevertheless, the evolving institutional framework of the tribunal during the 16th century assimilated witchcraft into the array of offenses investigated by inquisitors, notwithstanding the persistence of the aforementioned jurisdictional complexity. This inquiry delves into the trajectories of select women prosecuted by the Holy Office for this offense. The argument posited contends that these individuals not only embodied their gender identities as witches through the notoriety associated with witchcraft but also accrued social recognition, concurrently constructing spaces characterized by relative autonomy. Among the notable figures examined are Brites Frazão, Ana Álvares, Margarida Lourenço, and Maria Gonçalves.

Teresa Parodi and her women personages: folklore and gender in the early 1980s

In this article we propose an analysis, from a feminist perspective, of two of Teresa Parodi's albums published in the mid-1980s, with the women protagonists of her texts as the focus. To do so, we reconstruct aspects of her production conditions -from general aspects to particularities of folklore- and of her personal-professional trajectory. We observe in El Purajhei (1985) and Mba-é pa reicó, chamigo (1986), both albums released after her success at the Cosquín Festival, that in several of her songs she recounted the experiences of women, usually from popular sectors and of provincial origin, highlighting their agency.

In September 1974, the constitutional government of María Estela Martínez de Perón, passed the law 20.840 or National Security law, which objective was to monitor, control and persecute the mobilized sectors of civil society, establishing that any person who altered or attempted to alter the institutional order and social peace of the Nation would be at the disposal of federal justice. In this article, based on the analysis of four operations that occurred in the province of Mendoza, we are going to address the complicity and responsibility of the federal justice system in the local repressive plot prior to and after the coup d'état, paying attention to the coordinated actions between the armed and security forces, to the systematic nature of the repressive actions reflected in the organization of operations based on the political identity of the victims, and to the way in which the legal and the illegal were intertwined were intertwined in said actions.

Gender-Based Political Violence. Current Challenges and Developments

These investigations provides information on how the countries of the Americas have been working towards preventing, punishing and eradicating the problem of gender violence as a recurring conflict in electoral processes. In this dossier, a complement to the previous one coordinated by Martin, the authors introduce the terms of reference under which the current debate on gender-based political violence is actually taking place. This dossier is useful for four reasons: first, because –in a didactic way- it introduces readers who don´t have an approach in gender political violence about its definition an interpretation. Second, because it identifies the basic criteria for its recognition and, third, because it analyzes the progress and problems of electoral governance for its prevention and sanction. Last, but not least, these investigations contribute to providing technical tools for the development and improvements of public gender policies.

Democracy and Violence Against Women in Politics: The Crossroads of Empowerment in Two Scenarios. A case study in Chile and Argentina

Despite the progress in Latin American affirmative actions regarding women's political participation, the violence against women in politics (VAWIP) has not been eradicated. In this way, this article seeks to identify and describe the discursive strategies in which VAWIP is manifested. In order to do so, the analysis is composed of three cases in two countries: Chile and Argentina. The first examines the VAWIP speeches received by the parliamentarians who participated in the debates on Constitutional Reform Law No. 21,216, which allowed equal representation in a constitutional process. For its part, in Argentina, the case of the self-proclaimed Ramonas Atrevidas from the Catamarca province is being examined, who achieved recognition of the VAWP within the political parties, and the case of the so-called Ambiciosas Paritaristas, who achieved justice issued by the parity of results and not only in the electoral lists.

Violence against women in politics and electoral institutions. Laws, regulations and protocols in Latin America

The visibility of gender-based political harassment and/or violence has stimulated the discussion about the significance of adopting regulatory frameworks –both legal and non-legal– aimed at preventing, addressing, and penalizing this issue. In Latin America, thirteen (13) countries have legislated in this regard with the purpose of promoting its prevention, attention, and punishment. Likewise, in some of these countries, protocols and/or regulations have been adopted - in certain cases prescribed by norms. Meanwhile, in other countries that have not yet adopted legal frameworks, action protocols have been established. Within this context, electoral organizations have become key institutions through: 1. Legally establish institutional powers; 2. Respond to the weakness of the normative text; and 3. Promote regulatory instruments in the absence of legal provisions. This descriptive work aims to analyze these aspects by means of scrutinizing the legal strategies that have arisen in the region with the aim of addressing gender-based political violence –specific laws, gender-based violence laws, and/or norms that regulate political-electoral competence– as well as certain protocols and regulations adopted within the electoral sphere.
